Advocates for hand-counted paper election ballots pressed their case Thursday, urging the passage of a bill by Rep. Lon Burnam, a Fort Worth Democrat.
Burnam, joining a bipartisan group of paper ballot advocates at a news conference, said there is no reliable way to verify votes cast on the electronic voting machines. He said that means a person's vote is not safe.
