This piece has a great mention of David Roger's remarks at the press conference. David has been an active supporter of VoteRescue ever since he and Texas Supreme Court candidate, Steve Smith, contested the results of the 2006 Republican Primary.
Paper Ballots

Advocates for hand-counted paper election ballots pressed their case Thursday, urging the passage of a bill by Rep. Lon Burnam, a Fort Worth Democrat.
Burnam, joining a bipartisan group of paper ballot advocates at a news conference, said there is no reliable way to verify votes cast on the electronic voting machines that are now widely used in Texas and elsewhere. He said that means a person's vote is not safe.
His legislation would mandate paper ballots that are hand-counted in public view with citizen oversight. The bill remains in a House committee.
A conservative Republican activist, David Rogers, cited problems posed by electronic voting machines in Tarrant County in a 2006 statewide primary race he worked on for a Texas Supreme Court candidate.
"You can't trust the machines. That's really the bottom line," Rogers said.
