Hi, All! Our next VoteRescue meeting will be next Tuesday, August 19th,
at Brave New Books, 1904 Guadalupe, Austin, from 6:30 til 8:30. Topics
will include updates on plans up til and including the election in
November, and maybe another election movie! GREAT VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITY
TO CONDUCT a real and important hand-counted paper ballot election! The
newly-formed "Texans for Accountable Government", a citizens' group which
is the continuation of the Ron Paul grassroots Revolution in Austin, will
be electing its "Steering Committee" at a meeting at Scholz's Beer Garden
on Sunday, August 24th, and VoteRescue has been invited to conduct the
election; oversee its execution, the hand-counting of the ballots, and
the overall integrity of this process. WE NEED YOUR HELP! Scholz's
address: 1607 San Jacinto Blvd
Austin, TX 78701
(512) 474-1958
The meeting goes from approximatelly 4 - 8 pm but we'd like our VR
volunteers to get their at 3:30 to get briefed. There will be two shift
options: 3:30 til 6:30 pm and 6:30 til 9pm. First shift will be "signing
in" voters and distributing ballots, and helping show people where to
cast their ballots Second shift will continue with assisting voters, and
remain after the official meeting ends at 8pm to COUNT THE VOTES! (All
meeting attendees will be invited to wait & watch the votes be counted.)
If you can do both shifts, EVEN BETTER! If you've never hand-counted
paper ballots, (or Exit Polls,) you should really make a point to
volunteer for this process - It really will demonstrate what we at
VoteRescue say all the time: Teams of citizens can transparently and
accurately hand-count paper ballots in a methodical and
reliable process. If you can help with this, please hit "Reply" and BE
SURE AND TELL ME WHICH SHIFT YOU CAN WORK that day! Thanks so much!
Vickie (and Karen)
