I would like to share my short blog review of Naomi Wolf

   The link below (bottom right) is a capture of a search results page
related to Naomi Wolf's visit to Austin, TX for a University of Texas
seminar dealing with feminist issues, followed up with a presentation and
book signing of her newest book:  "The End of America: Letter of Warning To
A Young Patriot" <http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RjALf12PAWc>.

I attended the book signing event.  The overflow audience seemed to consist
almost uniformly of those who were already adherents to the message.  Ms.
Wolf had her consistent energy level (compared to other videos which I have
seen) and introduced the "Young Patriot" in person (yes, the person in the
title of the book is real):  it was announced that he is moving to Austin.

It was encouraging that Ms. Wolf singled out pending legislation as
something we should campaign against:  HR 1855.  One link to a blog

(I need to check this link further and see if there is any sense of the blog
author's reference to 1955, as well as 1855.)

As part of the event, Karen Renick of Austin-based Vote
Rescue<http://voterescue.org/>had arranged to have a table in the open
area where Ms. Wolf presented to
offer sign-up email lists and hand-out materials concerning the intense
efforts being made to assure voting integrity in US elections.

In summary, for those of us who believe a coup in America has been
accomplished, it is of grave concern that the most concrete call-to-action
Wolf offers is to support the American Freedom
Campaign<http://www.americanfreedomcampaign.org/>,
as evidenced by blog post such as
this<http://www.huffingtonpost.com/naomi-wolf/08-candidates-must-sign-_b_61039.html>.
This blogger believes that alliance recommended by Ms. Wolf with
organizations such as Moveon.org is a sure sign of what is called "left
gatekeeping", and insures that citizens concerns and power to resist are
marginalized.

As one small example of this lack of walking the talk of her book, Ms. Wolf
seemed to be endorsing Barack Obama as a Pres. candidate who would stand up
for the Constitution and work to roll back the incursions of the Bush
Admin.  Based on his positions, advisors, and record, the idea that Obama
will serve the interest of the people is ludicrous. Neither did Ms. Wolf
point out that our eroding liberty took hits during the Clinton Admin. and
before.
