/Might the Senior Management at Hart be positioning the Austin-based
company to distance itself from //- or perhaps even close down - its
voting machine division because they see the writing on the wall? Let's
hope so! Is there anybody out there on our mailing list that knows more
about this upheaval at Hart? If so, send your info to
karen at voterescue.org and we'll send it out. Thanks!/

*Hart InterCivic* [The company that makes the machines we use here in
Travis County.]said Wednesday that its board of directors has agreed to
sell the company to its senior management team.
The Austin company, which makes electronic voting systems and
paper-based election systems, said its name and brand will remain in
place and no operational changes are expected. Terms of the acquisition
were not disclosed.
Chief executive Gregg Burt said the deal allows investors to cash out,
while giving Hart's five-person management team the freedom to decide
the company's future direction.
