Hello VoteRescuers, As most of you now know, we will not be able to
hand-count paper ballots on Election Day because the county commissioners
declined to propose to our County Clerk even partial paper ballots for
this November 4th's election. INSTEAD, we have a very simple, yet
powerful monitoring idea for Election Day: setting up "Trouble Reporting
Stations" in as many precincts in Travis County as possible. By
volunteering as little as 3 hours (or more!) on Election Day, you can
help us make a HUGE IMPACT by enabling us to cover perhaps dozens of
precincts across Travis County. All volunteers need to attend one of two
duplicate upcoming "Volunteer Briefing" meetings, both of which will be
held at Brave New Books, 1904 Guadalupe, Austin, TX; all the details will
be shared at these Briefings: Saturday, October 25th, 1-3 pm, OR:
Tuesday, October 28th, 6:30 - 8:30 pm. If you have special
circumstances and cannot attend one of these briefings, but still want to
volunteer, please let me know and we'll work something out. We do not
want to turn any volunteer away. If you already know which precinct
number you'd like to cover (your own, or any other you like), just e-mail
me and we will put you down for your preferred precinct number. All
other volunteers will get to select a precinct to cover during one of the
briefings. We are also looking for five or six videographers to handle a
project the evening of the election. Details on all of this will be
discussed at our Briefings. Thank you all for your time and help. This
is going to be a fantastic monitoring action! TOGETHER, WE CAN TAKE BACK
OUR ELECTIONS! Vickie Karp, PR DirectorVoteRescue512/775-3737vickievoter at gmail.comkarp@mail.com
